Reasons to attend Gas for Power Generation 2016

  • Gas has surged ahead of coal in the US Power generation for the 5th consecutive month, be a part of this growing new opportunity
  • An unusually warm winter has left stockpiles of gas at the biggest surplus to the five-year average since 2012, sending price stumbling. This translates to seeing more power plants switching to gas from coal at these prices.
  • How is gas being harnessed for power generation? Hear case studies from leading power producers detailing how they have retrofitted their coal plants to fire with gas and new builds.

Why attend Natural Gas Power Generation USA 2016?

The surge in the use of clean burning natural gas has driven U.S. carbon emissions from power production to the lowest in 22 years. As the shale revolution demonstrates, the innovative use of new energy technologies along with improvements in energy efficiency not only reduce carbon emissions but also greatly benefit the nation’s economy. As the EPA presents their new emission standards and regulations, natural gas-fired generation has officially turned from a future opportunity to a present necessity.

Since 2010 more than 200 coal plants were announced to retire in the USA.  That is almost 40% of the entire country’s coal plant fleet. Although the Obama administration has extending tax credits and incentives for solar and wind power, renewables will not get the US to even half way of Obama’s emissions target, which is at least 26% of what they were in 2005. Therefore natural gas is proving itself to be an integral piece of the energy puzzle. By 2035 natural gas will have far surpassed coal, with 40% of the country’s generation projected to be gas fired.

There is an energy gap that needs to be bridged and fast. Therefore there has never been a better time to get involved in the construction and development of gas-fired projects. The program will reflect the gas-fired power engineering and construction industry, the latest challenges and innovations will be reflected with case studies of new proposed developments currently under way plus projects where there are already boots on the ground.

This is an unrivalled opportunity to learn and build the partnerships, learn how to obtain permitting and financing, plus win business relationships to successfully get your natural gas fired project off the ground.

Tickets are limited and will be awarded on a strictly first-come-first-serve basis. Immediate booking is recommended to secure your place. Plus early bird savings if you are fast! Check out the registration form at the back for more details.
